Director of Human Resources-Operations reports to the Head of
Global Field Human Resources and is responsible for directing the
strategy on the people-related matters impacting the business
within Global Manufacturing (U.S., Brazil and Thailand) and Supply
Chain. This role is hybrid with the flexibility to work from home.
This role will be based in or near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with an
expectation the incumbent can be on-site within short notice.You
will collaborate with the executive team, peer HR Directors and
other HR Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, HR Shared
Services, Labor Relations, etc.) to deploy initiatives in rewards,
labor/employee relations, and talent management. The Director Human
Resources provides guidance to a team of Human Resources Managers &
Business Partners who provide consultation to business leaders and
line managers on the people-related matters impacting their
business.Job Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner with the HR and Executive leadership
team to ensure that all people related matters, talent management,
labor relations strategy, and HR compliance aligns with the
strategic goals of the company and support driving a
high-performance culture.
- HR Consultation Management: Advises and counsels leaders and
employees on people related matters. Implements and executes HR
programs and processes and leads talent and organizational design
projects across multiple geographies. Support engagement,
retention, and development, and coaches people leaders on 1-on-1
basis, as appropriate.
- Integrated Business Solutions: Works with a team of embedded HR
Managers and Professionals to help them align and integrate the
strategic capabilities of the company's human resources with
business unit objectives. Identifies emerging human capital
challenges and trends (internally and externally) within the
business units supported and sponsors efforts to create improvement
opportunities and effective solutions with business impact.
- Strategy Development and Execution: Supports organizational
effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes,
structure, and culture with business strategies. Helps translate
strategy into solutions, actions, and results. Assesses the impact
of business decisions on the workforce and provides solutions to
optimize opportunities and mitigate any downsides.
- May require additional, global travel - up to 10%.Education
Specifications
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.Experience
RequirementsThis role typically requires a minimum of 12 years
related experience with at least 5 years of management experience.
In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the
following:
- Experience leading global people related matters for a
manufacturing organization. Experience with a union workforce
strongly preferred.
- A strategic thinker who can approach Human Resources from a
"big picture" perspective.
- People leadership experience with a track record of
successfully engaging, developing, and retaining a team.
- Technical expertise in the effective handling of employee
relations issues, arbitration and grievances.
- Possess general management perspective and business acumen,
including financial and strategic capability. Excellent judgment
and sensitivity for dealing with internal and external issues;
ability to interact in fluid and ambiguous situations and
sensitivity to the needs of the stakeholders of the
organization.
- A catalyst for change, including problem solving, innovative
transformation, relationship and role influence. Ability in taking
reasoned risks and presenting and selling ideas.
- Evidence of a leadership style which builds alliances with
internal/external customers and emphasizes integrity, high morale
and effective teamwork.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and strong "people
skills", outstanding verbal communication skills on an individual
and group basis, excellent writing skills, negotiating skills, and
